Scanning Project: The Necromancer's Tower

Here's another quickie: a necromancer and his decrepit abode. The "necromancer" in question, Averhaz, is from 1995, and was apparently created using the D&D Rules Cyclopedia. (The non-weapon proficiencies are a dead giveaway.) If you've been looking for a random evil fiend and his lair for your game, look no further:

  1. I love that you include a hand-rendered visual of the location in general alongside the actual map.

Too bad Averhaz didn't have Fly in his repetoire, or that tower roof would have made an excellent escape plan!

Any chance you might provide details on the items I've been noticing popping up and about, such as his Swirling Robes?

Great fun and top-notch designing, as usual.

  2. Thanks! I don't know how that Fly spell eluded me... :P

To answer your question: An artifact, the "Swirling Robes of Crozius" are a set of magical robes that provide an AC value of 3 by swirling between the attacker and the wearer (magic-users only).
